Control the source
- Repair leaks and water entry promptly
- Use exhaust ventilation in moisture-producing rooms
- Keep supply and return vents unobstructed
- Monitor high-humidity areas
- Dry wet materials quickly
Use circulation carefully
- Move air through occupied rooms when conditions are clean and dry
- Do not blow air across visible mould or contaminated materials
- Open interior doors when appropriate to improve circulation
- Use dehumidification when humidity remains high
- Investigate persistent musty odours
